AABENRAA CHAPEL, AABENRAA
As part of a major renovation of the chapel, originally built in 1932, the entire lighting system was replaced.
The main lighting consists of three large chandeliers in the central aisle, complemented by wall-mounted uplights on both sides of the room. The goal was for the lighting to underscore an atmosphere of solemnity and harmony while also embodying a sense of bright hope, as quoted by the Danish National Church in Aabenraa. The building’s style is best described as modernist with a touch of classicism in the interior.
Architect Jørgen Toft Jessen designed three ring chandeliers and two sizes of wall lights for the chapel’s lighting. All fixtures are uplighting, with bowl-shaped reflectors featuring a white-painted interior. This creates a decorative, soft, and pleasant uplight that, through reflections from the ceiling and walls, provides a welcoming and solemn atmosphere in the room.
The products used are JTJ Chandelier and JTJ Wall Uplight.
