Hjärtums Church. This church is located in Lilla Edet, Sweden, and its origins date back to the 13th century. The church has undergone several renovations and restorations, the most recent of which took place in 2018. This restoration was extensive, involving significant changes to the interior.
Okholm Lighting supplied LED ring chandeliers as general lighting for the church. All chandeliers are made of aluminum and finished in matte black lacquer, creating a striking graphic contrast to the church’s historic interior.
All the ring chandeliers are connected to a DALI lighting control system, allowing the up- and downlight to be controlled separately, offering numerous possibilities for creating atmospheric lighting. The graphic ring chandelier appears to "float" freely in the space, suspended by four fine steel wires. A beautiful example of modern lighting aesthetics in harmony with a historic building.
Okholm Lighting has delivered similar lighting solutions to Løgumkloster Church, but in different materials and sizes. You can view this project here.
