LØGET CHURCH, VEJLE
Architect Kuno Mielby is the mind behind Løget Church in Vejle. The church is located in a residential area, making it a central gathering point for the community. It is a traditional processional church with a very strict design. The architect believes that a church should be a place where one can find the necessary spiritual calm. He prioritized visibility of the sky, and the 12-meter-high space with its white walls creates a solemn and reverent atmosphere.
The lighting solution is very simple yet highly effective. The choice fell on the SCAN pendant in white-lacquered aluminum, equipped with a sandblasted acrylic shade. The pendants are evenly distributed at a horizontal level in the nave and chancel, while in the gallery, they follow the slanted ceiling plane. The over 200 SCAN pendants create a stunning floating light ceiling in the high-ceilinged space, visually adding an extra dimension to the room. The natural light entering through the windows interacts beautifully with the suspended wires at various levels, creating striking lighting effects.
