The high school was established in connection with the Reunification of 1920 as Tønder State School, but in 1986, it was renamed Tønder Gymnasium. The school has approximately 400 students and has a strong tradition of international relationships, including a close partnership with Friedrich-Paulsen Schule in Niebüll.
Okholm Lighting has been involved in a lighting renovation, primarily focused on ceiling-mounted LED luminaires, which also contributes to a major energy reduction as LED technology reduces energy consumption by up to 80% compared to previous luminaires.
The ceiling luminaires emit a soft and comfortable diffused light through an acrylic diffuser. Additionally, an uplight component ensures that the ceiling surface is illuminated, creating a light and floating effect in the space.
Furthermore, the luminaires are also available as suspended pendants, where the upward-directed light enhances the effect by utilizing the ceiling as a reflector, ensuring better and softer ambient lighting.
Additionally, a custom LED ring chandelier has been designed for the project.
