Orbicon, originally a Danish consulting engineering firm, is now an integral part of the global organization WSP. Their areas of expertise include environmental assessment, climate adaptation, water and nature management, and energy optimization. Consequently, the architectural firm DISSING + WEITLING selected the infinity symbol as the company's emblem for their central area.
The project addresses Orbicon’s strong emphasis on sustainable solutions, aimed at enhancing company culture and improving employee well-being. Orbicon successfully achieved gold certification under the DK-DGNB standard, which mandates economic, social, and environmental sustainability in construction.
The organic symbol disrupts the building’s square architecture, creating a unique focal point in the area. The infinity symbol is fabricated from a powder-coated aluminum profile with externally mounted LED spots. Measuring 11.6 by 4.8 meters, it serves as a statement chandelier with significant presence. DISSING + WEITLING entrusted the task to Oklight, leveraging their extensive expertise in developing lighting solutions for large spaces.
