Ramboll is a major global architecture, engineering, and consultancy firm that primarily focuses on projects with both environmental and long-term perspectives. Founded in Denmark in 1945, the company operates today under the motto: Bright Ideas, Sustainable Change.
Ramboll approached Okholm Lighting, with whom they had previously collaborated on other projects, to develop a lighting concept for their boardroom. Based on their ideas and sketches, Okholm Lighting designed the lighting concept for the space.
The starting point was a circular LED luminaire with integrated Human-Centric Lighting. This daylight rhythm system has proven its relevance in various settings, and now it was to be implemented in a meeting room where sessions could be long, requiring optimal concentration along with personal well-being.
Okholm Lighting created three large ring chandeliers—one with a diameter of Ø174 cm and two with a diameter of Ø139 cm. The two smaller fixtures flank each end of the meeting table. The light is both upward and downward directed and can be individually controlled while also following the natural daylight rhythm.
