In the process of modernizing Køge City Hall, the visual artist Signe Guttormsen has created four large light art installations suspended from the ceiling of the city hall's arcade. She has named the artwork “If Walls Could Talk.” This is complemented by twelve torch-like outdoor lamps that serve as a “light alley” surrounding the entrance to the city hall. Signe Guttormsen drew inspiration from the city hall’s 500-year-old history, focusing on the architectural changes that have taken place over time. Through the use of colors, she has connected different eras, and for this project, she was awarded the Color Prize in 2019, established by the Danish Master Painters and the Kirsten and Freddy Johansens Foundation.

As an entrance portal to the four large light art installations in the arcade of Køge City Hall, Signe Guttormsen designed twelve torch-like outdoor lamps. They are part of her artwork “If Walls Could Talk,” which received the Color Prize in 2019. These lamps form a beautiful alley of pure and powerful LED colors, literally adding color to the entrance.
