LIGHT SCULPTURES BY CHRISTINA AUGUSTESEN

For the exhibitions "Seeing the Unseen" at Sophienholm (2017) and "Circle's Square" at the Antikmuseet in Aarhus (2018), Okholm Lighting assisted visual artist and lighting designer Christina Augustesen in the creation of her works.

She works with the gradation between light, darkness, and colors in her pieces. The light installations mediate the perception of light and colors—they are composed to shift in a slow dynamic, where light intensities change, and new colors emerge through the use of a double color matrix, where color filters are blended with the colors of light. The artificial lighting is controlled in sequences, where transitions from one color to another vary in time. The control allows for the mixing of light colors and variation in light intensity.
