OKHOLM LIGHTING BECOMES PART OF CARL HANSEN & SØN

On May 31, 2024, the Danish lighting manufacturer Okholm Lighting became part of Carl Hansen & Søn.

Okholm Lighting, founded in 1932, manufactures in Tønder and provides customized lighting solutions for the professional market. Under the new arrangement, the company will continue operating without changes and will also assume responsibility for producing Carl Hansen & Søn’s lighting fixtures. Following the acquisition, Okholm Lighting will operate under the name Okholm Lighting by Carl Hansen & Søn.

I am especially pleased that we can continue and develop the current setup for the professional market while also becoming an active player in the private market. It is very gratifying that we can maintain and expand production in Tønder, Hans J. Wegner’s birthplace,” says Peter Okholm, former owner of Okholm Lighting.

Carl Hansen & Søn’s lighting collection comprises iconic lighting objects designed by figures such as Hans J. Wegner, Esben Klint, and Henning Koppel. These pieces are available in the company’s flagship stores, through its webshop, and via a global network of authorized dealers.
