SORØ ACADEMY WALL
Since the areas where students and teachers move around at Sorø Academy were very dark, additional lighting was needed between the buildings.
Instead of adding more pole-mounted luminaires in Fratergården, a completely different solution was chosen.
Inspired by the existing modern pole lights in the area—originally designed by Karsten Rønnow’s Studio—ERIK Architects designed two types of wall-mounted luminaires. These were installed on the corners of the main building and on the church facade facing Fratergården.
The new wall-mounted luminaires serve a dual purpose: they illuminate the historic buildings decoratively while also casting light onto the previously dark areas between the buildings.
