Inspired by a former gas tower that was located where MT Højgaard's entrance to the main headquarters is, artist Signe Guttormsen has created an integrated artwork that also serves as the basic lighting in the entrance. The roof structure of the gas tower is mirrored in the floor covering at a 1:1 scale. The meter, which moved up and down depending on gas consumption in the area's households, has taken form and function in an impressive chandelier installed above the floor.
The chandelier is part of a comprehensive art project integrated throughout the entire headquarters. She has named it OPBRUD. It also encompasses a courtyard environment, see separate project, just as the main headquarters' roof structure inspires the floor in the cafeteria. The chandelier was created in close collaboration with Okholm Lighting.
