NOEVLING CHURCH, GISTRUP, DENMARK

In collaboration with architect Niels Vium, sculptor Jette Vohlert has designed a chandelier for the choir in Nøvling Church, inspired by the church's star vault. The chandelier mirrors the structure of the star vault, forming a flatter yet solemn shape that appears from the church nave as an almost submerged ceiling above the altar area. Crafted from polished brass, the design imparts a beautiful simplicity that harmonizes with the church's aesthetics. At the center of the chandelier's imaginary star vault floats a peace dove. The star vault is adorned with 24 LED bulbs, which illuminate the chandelier and create atmospheric lighting for the peace dove. The chandelier is named "Star Crown with Holy Dove."
